Not all iPhones will get the software update when iOS 17 is released, we have listed below the devices that are eligible for the iOS 17 software update, this includes all models of iPhones and iPads that will receive the iPadOS software update.

If your iPhone isn’t listed above, it doesn’t support iOS 17, and you won’t receive a notification to download the latest software. For example, if you have an iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X or older, the latest software you can use is iOS 16.
If you’re not sure which iPhone you have, you can take a quick look in Settings. Open your Settings app, tap “General” > “About.” Next to “Model Name,” you’ll see which iPhone you have.
Apple is expected to release the iOS 17 software update later this year alongside the release of the new iPhone 15 series, which we expect to launch sometime in September, should see four new iPhones this year. These include the iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max.
