Apple’s this year’s iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus are equipped with last year’s A16 Bionic SoC, while the high-end Pro models are equipped with the new A17 Pro SoC. But that might not be the case with next year’s iPhone 16 series.

All new iPhone 16 models, including the low-priced iPhone 16 model and the high-end iPhone 16 Pro model, will use the same A18 Pro processor, which Apple will release next year. The analyst also said that the SoC will be manufactured by TSMC using its second-generation N3E 3nm process node.

For the iPhone 15 Pro series, Apple switched to titanium for a lighter, more durable phone design. This is expected to continue with the iPhone 16 Pro, which will almost certainly retain the USB-C port that Apple has added to the current iPhone lineup.

Apple will stick with the 6.1-inch size of the Pro model it’s had for years. However, there are rumors that Apple may be moving to larger screens – around 6.3 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro and 6.9 inches for the iPhone 16 Pro Max/Ultra.

The iPhone 16 Pro’s ultra-wide-angle lens may be upgraded from the current 12MP sensor. Specifically, rumors suggest that all Pro models will feature a 48MP ultra-wide-angle lens, matching the move Google just made with the Pixel 8 Pro.

The iPhone 16 Pro is expected to add support for Wi-Fi 7, a technology that uses three frequency bands to move data for faster connections. It’s clear that the iPhone 16 Pro won’t come with a modem made in-house by Apple; Qualcomm has already announced that it will supply modems to Apple until 2026.

Apple should launch iOS 18 next year, and we expect the iPhone 16 Pro to run the software.
