iPhone 13 VS Samsung Galaxy S22 VS Xiaomi Mi 12

Rumors about the Samsung Galaxy S22 have popped up many times, but I know relatively little about its competitor, the Xiaomi 12, which is likely to be released at the same time.

Chinese news sites shared some renderings of the Mi 12. The Xiaomi Mi 12 camera bulges show more phones than the Mi 11 and is very similar to the Mi 11 Pro, which was released only in China.

I’ve heard quite a few phones, such as the Samsung Galaxy Note 21 and Galaxy Z Fold 3, come with an off-screen camera, but the former can be eliminated entirely, while the latter is probably a fairly niche device.

There are rumors that the Galaxy S22 Ultra may have this feature. But if the camera is under the Mi 12’s display, Xiaomi’s flagship series could launch in December 2021 or January 2022, possibly before Samsung’s February 2022 launch. As such, it could be better than the Galaxy S22 series.

Since the iPhone 13 series is likely to launch in September, ahead of the Galaxy S22 Ultra and the Mi 12, we’re getting more iPhone 13 news. We’ve heard elsewhere that the iPhone 13 series will have improved camera and Face ID, plus a 120Hz refresh rate screen (at least on the Pro model), LIDAR scanners on all models, and a smaller notch, among other improvements.

It’s worth noting that VCM can also be used with periscope cameras (which typically allow for more distant zoom), but this report doesn’t specifically mention that, and while there are rumors that the iPhone comes with a periscope camera, we didn’t think of that this year.
