Unfortunately, you can’t permanently turn off the Dynamic Island.

The iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max come with a feature called Dynamic Islands, a pill shaped incision at the top of the screen. Depending on the application you are using, Dynamic Island morphs to display various information.

While this may be a cool feature for some people, it can be annoying for others. If you belong to the latter category, you want to know that there is a way to turn off Dynamic Island animation on the iPhone 14 Pro or iPhone 14 Pro Max.

There is no way to completely disable “Dynamic Island” content at present, because its behavior has been integrated into iOS 16. However, if you are distracted by its animation, you can turn it off by sliding your finger left or right on the dynamic island animation. The island shrinks and the animation disappears. This applies to iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. This does not permanently disable “Dynamic Island”. After a while, you’ll be able to reactivate whatever animation you previously dismissed.

In practice, Dynamic Island aims to make it easier for you to access the application you have been using. Once you get used to it, you may find it useful. And Apple has confirmed that it will extend Dynamic Island to the entire iPhone 15 series.
