Uber-leaker Evan Blass has revealed Samsung’s codename for the Galaxy Note 9 (SM-N960U) is “Crown”. If ever a codename was designed to exude confidence and status, this is it.
Just last week mysterious leaker Ice Universe (who broke the Galaxy Note 8 design, attained the first real-world photos of the Galaxy S8 and nailed every single detail of the Galaxy S9) revealed the Galaxy Note 9 will be the first mass-market smartphone to feature an in-display fingerprint reader as well as a huge 4,000 mAh battery.
That sounds more like the kind of innovation the Note range is famous for following the fairly incremental Galaxy S9 and Galaxy S9 Plus updates. Two phones I’ve long argued you should not buy yet, especially with a better version coming soon.
Furthermore, it’s exactly what the Galaxy Note range needs since in recent years the once innovation-driving range has simply a) coped the Galaxy S designs, and b) cut back on its class-leading battery life despite important technological advances.
